How do teeth whitener kits work?
Teeth whitener kits work thanks to the special active ingreadient thats mixed in with the
gel call "carbamide peroxide". Throughout the whitening process the carbamide
peroxide in the gel breaks down and releases tiny oxygen bubbles which then pass through
your tooths enamel and clean out the stains. The structure of your tooth is not changed
and the tooth enamel becomes a lighter and whiter shade but the whiteness is from
fillings, bridges, crowns, bondings etc will not be affected. |

Does the procedure hurt?
Some people can experience sensitive teeth during the whitening process. Use a good
anti-sensitive toothpaste and mouthwash to reduce sensitivity. How are teeth whitener kits used?
Firstly the whitening tray is moulded to your own upper and lower teeth set by dipping
each tray into hot water then biting while sucking on the tray to make it fit tightly to
the shape of your teeth. The whitening gel can then be applied to the tooth tray and then
inserted into your mouth so that the gel comes in contact with the teeth you want to
whiten. Teeth whitener trays are worn over the teeth for at least 2 - 4 hours a day for
the best results.
How long will the results last for?
Your teeth will remain whiter for a long time (a few years) until you have naturally
stained them again through any smoking or drinking you may do. |
